Hello, and welcome! Teklye.org is a free website run by Mahibere Teklehaimanot, a nonprofit organization. We teach the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo faith to children and young people through lessons, saint stories, and other resources. These Terms of Use are the simple rules for using our website. By using Teklye, you agree to follow them.
A note for parents and guardians
Our site is made for children and youth. If your child is young, please read these rules together and help them use the site safely.
Who can use Teklye
Everyone is welcome to read and learn on Teklye. If you are a child, please use the site with the permission and help of a parent, guardian, or teacher.
Your free account
- Making an account is free.
- Please give true information when you sign up.
- Keep your password secret and safe, and do not share your account with others.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else is using it, please tell us.
Be kind, and use the site well
When you use Teklye, please:
- Use it to learn and grow in faith.
- Be respectful and kind to others.
- Do not try to break, hack, or damage the website.
- Do not upload or share anything mean, harmful, or that is not yours.
- Do not pretend to be someone else.
If someone breaks these rules or behaves in an unsafe way, we may pause or close their account to keep everyone safe.
Our lessons and materials
The lessons, stories, pictures, and other materials on Teklye belong to Mahibere Teklehaimanot, or are used with permission. Some materials are gently adapted from other trusted sources, and we credit them where we can.
You are welcome to:
- Read and learn from everything here.
- Share links to our pages with family and friends.
Please do not:
- Copy our materials to sell them or to claim them as your own.
- Republish large parts of our content somewhere else without asking us first.
If you would like to use our materials for your church, school, or Sunday school, please contact us — we are usually happy to help.
Free, and here to serve
Teklye is free and does not show ads. We are a nonprofit, and our goal is to teach and preserve the faith for children and youth. We may add, change, or remove lessons and features as the site grows.
A few honest notes
- We work hard to make our lessons correct and faithful, but we share them as they are. Teklye is a learning helper, not a replacement for your priest, your church, or your parents.
- Sometimes the website may be slow, down for repairs, or unavailable. We are sorry for any trouble this causes.
- We may link to other websites, such as videos. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If you keep using Teklye after a change, you agree to the new terms.
