SUMMARY:Synaxarium for Nehasse 28 (September 3)
DESCRIPTION:READING/VERBAL LEARNERS \n\n\n \nIn the Name of the Father\, and the Son\, and the Holy Spirit\, One God. Amen. \n\n \nToday the Church celebrates the holy patriarchs—our fathers Abraham\, Isaac\, and Jacob. These great men loved God with all their hearts and trusted Him no matter what happened. \nAbraham – The Father of Faith\nAbraham was called the father of many nations. Why? Because he trusted God completely\, even when things seemed impossible. \nOne night\, God told him in a vision: \n\n“Leave your home and your father’s house. I will show you a new land.” \n\nAbraham obeyed without question and traveled to new lands. Later\, when God promised that Abraham would have a son\, he believed—even though he was 100 years old and Sarah\, his wife\, was very old too! And just as God said\, their son Isaac was born. \nOne of Abraham’s greatest tests came when God asked him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham did not doubt. He placed Isaac on the altar\, trusting that God had the power to give him back if needed. At the last moment\, God sent His angel and said: \n\n“Do not harm the boy. Now I know you love Me\, for you did not withhold your only son.” \n\nBecause of his faith\, God blessed Abraham\, promising that his children would be as many as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. \nAbraham lived a long life and was known everywhere for his kindness\, hospitality\, and deep love for God. Truly\, he is remembered as the Father of Faith and even called the “Father of Christ” in the flesh\, because Jesus was born from Abraham’s family line. \nIsaac – The Child of Promise\nIsaac was the miracle child born to Abraham and Sarah. He also trusted God just like his father. When Abraham prepared to sacrifice him\, Isaac willingly obeyed\, showing his own faith. \nIsaac grew up\, married Rebecca\, and had two sons: Esau and Jacob. Isaac lived peacefully and was gentle by nature. Once\, when his servants fought over wells of water\, Isaac chose not to argue—he simply moved and dug new wells. \nAs he grew older\, his eyesight became weak. Wanting to bless his son Esau\, he asked him to hunt and prepare food. But through God’s plan and Rebecca’s guidance\, Jacob received the blessing instead. Isaac lived to be 180 years old\, and when he died\, he was buried with his father Abraham and mother Sarah. \nJacob – The One Called Israel\nJacob\, Isaac’s younger son\, was chosen by God and later called Israel. Though he made mistakes\, he loved God and learned to trust Him. \nWhen his brother Esau was angry\, Jacob had to leave home. He worked many years tending flocks before marrying and raising twelve sons. These twelve became the twelve tribes of Israel. \nJacob once had a dream of a ladder reaching to heaven\, with angels going up and down. He woke and said: \n\n“This is the house of God and the gate of heaven!” \n\nAnother time\, Jacob wrestled with God in a vision. From then on\, he was called “Israel\,” which means “one who wrestles with God.” \nJacob’s life was not easy. His beloved son Joseph was sold by his brothers\, and Jacob thought Joseph was dead. He wept so much that his eyes became blind. Later\, during a great famine\, Jacob’s sons went to Egypt for food and discovered Joseph was alive! Joy filled Jacob’s heart again\, and he lived his last years in Egypt with his family. \nBefore dying at 146 years old\, Jacob blessed each of his sons. He gave Judah the promise of kingship\, saying that one day the Savior\, Christ\, would come from Judah’s family. Jacob was then buried with Abraham and Isaac. \nOther Saints Remembered Today\nOn this day we also remember: \n\nAbba Barsebu (Barsoba) and ten monks who were his disciples. They became martyrs\, bravely dying for Christ.\nThe captain of the royal horses and eight hundred companions of Isidore\, who also gave their lives in faith.\n\nSalutation to Abraham\, Isaac\, and Jacob\, our holy fathers!Salutation to Abba Barsebu and the brave martyrs! \nGlory be to God\, who is always glorified in His saints. Amen. \n\n\n \nAUDITORY/AURAL LEARNERS \n\n\nhttps://teklye.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/download-5.wav\n \nVISUAL/SPATIAL LEARNERS

DESCRIPTION:READING/VERBAL LEARNERS \n\n\n \nIn the Name of the Father\, and the Son\, and the Holy Spirit\, One God. Amen. \n\n \nA long time ago\, in the city of Sabersir\, there lived a faithful family. They were kind to travelers\, helped strangers\, and loved God with all their hearts. The parents raised their children\, Benjamin and Eudoxia\, to be strong in their faith and pure in their lives. \nAs Benjamin grew older\, his heart longed for one thing—to give his life for Christ. He wanted to be a martyr\, someone who bravely suffers for the name of Jesus. \nBenjamin’s Brave Stand\nOne day\, Benjamin went before the governor of Setuf and said boldly: \n\n“I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ!” \n\nThe governor became very angry. He ordered that Benjamin be beaten and thrown into prison. When his parents and his sister\, Eudoxia\, heard this\, they rushed to the prison. They wept when they saw him suffering. \nBut Benjamin\, though in pain\, comforted them with gentle words: \n\n“Do not be sad. The life of this world is short\, but the life God gives us is forever.” \n\nEudoxia listened carefully\, and her heart burned with courage. She said to her brother: \n\n“As the Lord lives\, I will never leave you. Whatever death you face\, I will face it too.” \n\nWith that\, she also confessed her faith in Jesus before the governor. \nIn the Darkness\nThe governor was furious. He ordered the soldiers to throw Benjamin and Eudoxia into a dark cell with no food or water. For twenty long days\, they stayed there\, praying to God without fear. \nFinally\, the soldiers tied heavy stones around their necks and threw them into a river. But God sent His angel\, who untied the stones and kept them safe. The river carried them to a village called Batra\, where a kind young woman found them and pulled them out. \nStanding Strong\nInstead of hiding\, Benjamin and Eudoxia went straight back to the governor. They stood tall and declared: \n\n“We will never worship your idols\, for we belong to Christ alone!” \n\nThe governor tortured them again and again\, hoping they would give up. But the saints never changed their minds. At last\, tired of their strength\, the governor commanded that their heads be cut off with swords. \nAnd so\, Benjamin and Eudoxia received their crowns of martyrdom in heaven. \nLater\, a holy church was built in their hometown of Sabersir. Their bodies were laid there\, and many miracles and healings came from God through them. \nSalutation to the brave brother and sister\, Benjamin and Eudoxia! \nOther Holy Ones Remembered Today\nThis day is also special for remembering other saints: \n\nSamuel the Prophet – When he was just a boy\, God called him while he was sleeping in the temple. He grew to be a great prophet and anointed David as king.Salutation to Samuel\, the prophet of the Lord!\nVictor the Alexandrian and his mother Sara – who stayed strong in their faith.\nThe feast of Suri’el\, the fourth Archangel – the mighty angel who remembered the twelve sons of Jacob.\n\nGlory be to God\, who is always glorified in His saints. DESCRIPTION:READING/VERBAL LEARNERS \n\n\n \nIN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT\, ONE GOD.  AMEN. \n\n \nA long time ago\, there lived two very special siblings—Saint Moyses and his sister Sara. Their parents were kind\, faithful people\, and they were also very rich. But when their parents passed away\, Moyses and Sara had to decide what to do with their lives. \nMoyses told his sister: \n\n“Sara\, I want to give you all our parents’ things and arrange a good marriage for you. As for me\, I want to become a monk so I can pray and ask God to forgive my sins.” \n\nBut Sara shook her head and said: \n\n“Brother\, how can you think only about saving your soul while leaving me in the troubles of this world? If you want to serve God\, then I want to do the same!” \n\nAt first\, Moyses tried to convince her\, but Sara stood strong. She told him\, \n\n“What you do for God\, I will do too. We are brother and sister\, from the same parents\, and I won’t be left behind.” \n\nMoyses was amazed by her courage. So together\, they gave away all their riches to the poor. Moyses entered a monastery\, and Sara joined a convent of holy women near Alexandria. For ten whole years\, they prayed\, fasted\, and lived holy lives—without even seeing each other. \nThe Time of Persecution\nDuring the rule of a cruel emperor named Severianus\, Christians were hunted and killed for their faith. Many priests\, monks\, and nuns became martyrs. \nOne day\, Moyses felt in his heart that it was time to give his life for Christ. He wrote a letter to Sara\, saying: \n\n“Sister\, I am going to confess Christ and become a martyr.” \n\nWhen Sara read the letter\, she immediately asked the abbess to let her leave. The abbess prayed over her and blessed her\, and Sara hugged all her sisters in the convent before hurrying to join Moyses. \nOn the road\, she found her brother. Together\, hand in hand\, they walked to the city of Alexandria. Standing before the governor\, they boldly said: \n\n“We believe in Jesus Christ\, our Lord and Savior!” \n\nThe governor grew furious. He ordered them to be tortured cruelly. But no matter what was done to them\, Moyses and Sara would not deny Christ. Finally\, the soldiers cut off their heads with swords. That day\, they both received crowns of victory in heaven—the crowns of martyrdom. \nSalutation to the brave brother and sister\, Saint Moyses and Saint Sara. \nOther Saints Remembered Today\nOn this same day\, the Church also remembers other holy ones: \n\nAbba Ammon\nElias the martyr and his sister Eudoxia\nAbuna Jacob\nAgabus the soldier and Thekla the nun\, who were thrown to lions but won crowns of glory in heaven.\n\nRemembering Sarah\, Wife of Abraham\nThe Church also celebrates the memory of another important woman from the Bible—Sarah\, the wife of Abraham. \nSarah was a woman of faith\, though sometimes she doubted. When she was very old\, God promised that she would still have a son. She laughed\, saying\, “How can this happen? I am too old\, and so is my husband!” But God told Abraham\, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” \nAnd indeed\, Sarah gave birth to Isaac\, the child of promise. \nLater\, when she saw Isaac playing with Ishmael\, the son of Hagar\, she asked Abraham to send Hagar and Ishmael away. It was a hard thing for Abraham\, but God told him to listen to Sarah\, for from Isaac’s family would come the Savior of the world\, Jesus Christ. \nSaint Paul later called Sarah the “free woman” and compared her to the Church. She lived a long life\, and when she died\, Abraham buried her in a tomb he bought from the Hittites. \nSalutation to the blessed womb of Sarah\, who became the mother of nations. \nGlory be to God\, who is always glorified in His saints. Amen. \n\n\n \nAUDITORY/AURAL LEARNERS \n\n\nhttps://teklye.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/download-3.wav\n \nVISUAL/SPATIAL LEARNERS

DESCRIPTION:READING/VERBAL LEARNERS \n\n\n \nIn the name of the Father\, the Son\, and the Holy Spirit\, One God. Amen. \n\n \nSaint Andrianus and His Brave Choice\nLong ago\, there was a soldier named Andrianus. He was a captain in the emperor’s army. One day\, he watched as Emperor Maximianus tortured Christians because they refused to bow to idols. \nAndrianus was amazed. These Christians did not scream or run away. Instead\, they stood strong\, filled with peace and courage. \nHe asked them\, “Why do you suffer like this? What reward do you hope for?” \nThe saints answered\, “Our mouths cannot even describe the joy waiting for us with Christ.” They told him about Jesus\, using the words of the prophets. \nSomething changed in Andrianus’ heart. He ran to the officers and said boldly\,“Write down my name with the names of these brave fighters for Christ. I am a Christian too!” \nThe emperor was shocked. “Are you mad\, Andrianus? Do you want to die for nothing?” \nBut Andrianus replied\, “I am not mad. I have left my old foolishness\, and now I have found the truth.” \nThe emperor ordered him to be thrown into prison with the other saints. \nAntolia’s Love and Courage\nWhen Andrianus’ wife\, Antolia\, heard what happened\, she hurried to the prison. Instead of crying\, she rejoiced! She kissed the chains of the saints and said\,“Encourage my husband to be strong. Gold\, silver\, and beauty are worthless. Follow Christ\, and you will receive His heavenly kingdom.” \nLater\, when Andrianus came to say farewell before his torture\, Antolia at first thought he had escaped and denied Christ. She locked her door and scolded him:“Yesterday I called you a martyr\, and today you run away?” \nAndrianus was amazed by her faith. He said\, “Open\, my sister. I have only come to bid you farewell.” \nShe opened the door\, and together they went to the prison. Antolia lovingly cared for the saints’ wounds\, washing their cuts and wiping away blood. \nThe Final Trial\nThe governor tried to trick Andrianus into worshiping false gods. But Andrianus refused. So the soldiers beat him cruelly. Antolia begged the saints\, “Pray for my husband!” \nThe soldiers struck him again and again\, until he was only 28 years old. But even then\, Antolia encouraged him:“Rejoice! Your name is written in heaven.” \nThe governor then commanded a terrible thing: that the saints’ bones be smashed with a blacksmith’s hammer. Antolia herself bravely placed her husband’s hands and feet first under the hammer\, giving him to Christ. With each blow\, Andrianus grew weaker until at last his soul flew to heaven. \nThe same happened to the 24 saints with him. Their bodies were thrown into fire\, but the flames did not harm them. Believers later gathered their remains in secret. \nAntolia took the pieces of her husband’s hands and kept them near her pillow. When the governor later tried to marry her\, she fled by boat\, still carrying the holy relics. She went to where the saints’ bodies rested\, prayed to be united with them\, and soon fell asleep in peace. She was buried with the martyrs she so dearly loved. \nAbba Bisaryon the Great\nOn this day\, we also remember Abba Bisaryon (Bessarion)\, a holy monk. \nHe was born to faithful parents and\, as a young man\, chose the life of a monk. He first lived with Abba Anthony\, then with Abba Macarius\, and later wandered the desert\, owning nothing at all. He had no bed\, no house\, not even a full garment—only rags tied around him. \nHe often sat outside monks’ caves\, weeping. When people asked why he cried\, he would say\, “My riches are lost\, and my family has fallen.” Some thought he meant earthly treasures\, but the wise knew he was speaking of how Satan steals away human virtues. \nAbba Bisaryon lived like the angels—pure\, humble\, and prayerful. For 47 years he fought the spiritual fight. Sometimes he prayed without sleeping for forty days. Other times\, he fasted for forty days at a time. \nMany miracles happened through him: \n\nOnce\, when his friends were dying of thirst by the Red Sea\, he prayed\, and bitter water became sweet.\nAt the River Takazze\, he had no ferry\, so he prayed—and walked across the water as if it were dry land.\nAnother time\, when a man with an evil spirit was placed secretly in the church where Bisaryon prayed\, the saint simply said\, “Rise up\,” and the man was instantly healed.\n\nAbba Bisaryon pleased God with his holy life and passed away in peace\, leaving behind many miracles and blessings. \nOther Saints Remembered\n\nSaint Elianus the martyr and his sister Eudoxia.\nThe brotherhood of Andrianus\, all who suffered with him.\n\nGlory be to God\, who is always praised in His saints. Amen. \n\n\n \nAUDITORY/AURAL LEARNERS \n\n\nhttps://teklye.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/download-2.wav\n \nVISUAL/SPATIAL LEARNERS

DESCRIPTION:READING/VERBAL LEARNERS \n\n\n \nIn the Name of the Father\, and the Son\, and the Holy Spirit\, One God. Amen. \n\n \nThe Birth of a Holy Child\nLong ago in the land of Showa\, there lived a priest named Tsega Ze’ab and his wife Egzi’e Haraya. They loved God with all their hearts\, but they had no children. Every day they prayed\, “Lord\, bless us with a son!” \nDuring this time\, an evil ruler named Matalome attacked Showa. He hurt many people and carried away women to make them his wives. Egzi’e Haraya was taken from her home\, but she prayed with all her heart to God for rescue. \nGod heard her prayer. Suddenly\, the great Archangel Michael appeared\, lifted her on his wings\, and brought her safely back to her husband in the church. What a miracle! \nSoon after\, the angel told them they would have a son who would be known across the whole world for his holiness. And it happened—on the 24th of Tahsas\, a baby boy was born. They named him Fisseha Tsion\, but the world would one day know him as Teklehaimanot. \nA Baby Who Praised God\nEven as a baby\, Fisseha Tsion was filled with God’s Spirit. On his third day\, he amazed everyone by crying out:“One is the Holy Father! One is the Holy Son! One is the Holy Spirit!” \nAs he grew\, God gave him many gifts. When his family ran out of food\, little Fisseha Tsion would touch flour\, oil\, or honey\, and suddenly the jars were full again. Neighbors marveled and said\, “Truly\, this child is chosen by God.” \nLearning God’s Word\nAt age seven\, his father taught him the Psalms and the holy books. Later\, Bishop Abba Cyril made him a deacon and said\, “This boy is a chosen vessel of God.” \nBut Fisseha Tsion was not meant for an ordinary life. \nCalled by Christ\nOne day while hunting in the desert\, he saw a wondrous vision—Jesus appeared\, carried by the wings of Michael the Archangel. \nThe Lord said\,“From now on\, you will not hunt animals. You will catch souls for God’s Kingdom. Your name will be Teklehaimanot. I give you power to heal the sick and cast out evil spirits.” \nFrom that moment\, Teklehaimanot gave his life to serve God. \nPreaching and Baptizing\nAfter his parents died\, he gave all his possessions to the poor and went out with nothing but his staff\, saying\,“What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul?” \nAs a priest\, he traveled through Showa preaching the Good News. He baptized seventy thousand people! He tore down idol shrines\, cut sacred trees\, and sent demons fleeing. \nFighting Magicians and Evil\nGod then sent him to Damot\, a land filled with magicians and fortune-tellers. They beat him with iron rods until his bones showed\, but God made him strong\, and he rose unharmed. The earth swallowed the wicked men\, proving the power of God. \nEven the cruel governor of Damot tried to kill him\, but every attempt failed. Seeing Teklehaimanot’s miracles—raising the dead and healing the sick—the governor believed in Christ\, along with twelve thousand ninety-nine people. \nAngelic Help\nOnce Teklehaimanot had no holy oil to serve Communion. But Archangel Michael himself brought down heavenly oil and said\, “Use this to bless the people.” Truly\, heaven was working with him. \nYears of Prayer and Service\nTeklehaimanot spent years with holy men like Abba Iyesus Moa and Abba Yohanni. He became a monk\, praying thousands of prostrations each night\, working hard by day—carrying water\, grinding flour\, chopping wood\, and always helping others. \nHe even walked across the sea without getting wet\, visiting Jerusalem three times to pray at the holy places. \nLife on the Mountain\nIn his later years\, Teklehaimanot lived in caves and deserts\, teaching\, praying\, and performing countless miracles. Seventeen disciples lived with him\, and many more men and women became monks and nuns because of his example. \nTo share in Christ’s suffering\, he even built sharp spikes into his prayer cell so that his body felt pain as he prayed. He stood so long that one of his legs broke. Yet for seven years he prayed standing on one foot. \nThe Crown of Glory\nAt last\, Jesus came to him in a vision with the Virgin Mary\, angels\, prophets\, and martyrs. The Lord said\,“My beloved Teklehaimanot\, you have shared in My sufferings. Now you shall share in My Kingdom.” \nSoon after\, the saint became ill. He was ninety-nine years and eight months old when he peacefully passed away\, surrounded by the praise of angels. He was buried with honor in his monastery\, where many still call on his name for help. \nSalutation to Teklehaimanot\, father of monks and light of Ethiopia. \nSaint Thomas the Confessor\nOn this same day\, we remember another brave saint—Abba Thomas\, Bishop of Mar’as. \nWhen wicked rulers tried to force him to deny Christ\, he boldly answered\,“I will never worship stones! I worship only Jesus Christ\, the Son of the Living God.” \nBecause of his faith\, he was tortured for many years. His ears\, nose\, lips\, hands\, and feet were cut off. His body was scarred\, but his spirit was strong. \nFor twenty-two years he remained in prison\, helped secretly by a faithful woman who brought him food at night. At last\, when Emperor Constantine became Christian\, Thomas was set free. \nWhen he appeared at the great Council of Nicaea\, even the emperor bowed before him\, kissing his scars as signs of victory in Christ. \nAfter forty years of guiding his people\, Thomas died in peace\, wearing the crown of a true confessor. \nSalutation to Thomas\, the fearless defender of Christ. \nThe Crown of Many\nAlso on this day\, nine thousand martyrs who followed Saint Thomas received crowns of victory in heaven. \nGlory to God in His Saints\nThe lives of these holy ones—Abba Teklehaimanot\, Abba Thomas\, and the countless martyrs—shine like stars. They remind us to be brave\, faithful\, and full of love for God. \nGlory be to God\, who is glorified in His saints. Amen. \n\n\n \nAUDITORY/AURAL LEARNERS \n\n\nhttps://teklye.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/download-1.wav\n \nVISUAL/SPATIAL LEARNERS

DESCRIPTION:READING/VERBAL LEARNERS \n\n\n \nIn the Name of the Father\, and the Son\, and the Holy Spirit\, One God. Amen.\nThe Great Trial in Alexandria\nOn this day\, we remember a very sad but brave story. In the great city of Alexandria\, more than three thousand Christians gave their lives for their faith. \nThis happened during the time of the wicked Emperor Marcianus\, who sent our holy father Abba Dioscoros into exile on an island called Gagra. Without their good shepherd\, the people of Alexandria faced much trouble and confusion. \nA New Archbishop\nAfter Marcianus died\, another emperor named Leo came to power. The people of Rome chose a man from Alexandria named Abrutarius to be archbishop. But he followed the Council of Chalcedon\, which many of the faithful Christians in Alexandria did not accept. \nOnly a few people followed Abrutarius. The rest stayed faithful to the teachings of Abba Cyril and Abba Dioscoros\, and they received the Holy Mysteries from the priests those fathers had appointed. \nThe Faith of Dioscoros\nSome people wrongly thought Dioscoros agreed with a priest named Eutyches (‘Awtaki)\, who said false things about Christ—that the Godhead and the Manhood were all mixed together like one thing. \nBut this was not true! Dioscoros excommunicated Eutyches. He taught the same faith as the holy fathers Basil\, Gregory\, and Cyril: \n\nJesus is One Lord\, One Christ.\nHis Godhead did not turn into flesh.\nHis flesh did not turn into Godhead.\nInstead\, both His divinity and humanity stayed true and perfect\, united in one.\n\nThis is the faith of the Church. \nTrouble for Abrutarius\nAfter Abrutarius gathered his council\, something shocking happened—he was found dead in his house! His followers blamed the friends of Dioscoros. But the faithful answered\,“We are brothers. Perhaps Eutyches’ men killed him\, or maybe thieves did it for money. We did not.” \nStill\, Abrutarius’ friends wrote angry letters to Emperor Leo\, saying the Christians had insulted the empire and killed the emperor’s chosen archbishop. \nA Great Slaughter\nThe people of Alexandria\, in their sorrow\, chose Abba Timothy to be their archbishop. When the emperor heard this\, he was furious. \nHe sent many soldiers to the city\, and a terrible thing happened. The soldiers killed three thousand Christians—men\, women\, children\, servants\, and free people. \nIt was a dark day\, caused by the work of Satan. The emperor even exiled Abba Timothy to the same island of Gagra for seven years. \nLater\, the emperor discovered the truth—that the Christians had not killed Abrutarius and did not know who did. Realizing his mistake\, he brought back Abba Timothy\, gave him honor\, and restored him as archbishop in Alexandria\, where he served faithfully for twenty-two years. \nSalutation to those brave martyrs who died by violence. \nSaint Damianus the Martyr\nOn this same day\, we also remember Saint Damianus. \nIn the city of Antioch\, the governor tortured him with many cruel torments. But Damianus never gave up his love for Jesus. At last\, the governor ordered his head to be cut off. Saint Damianus accepted death with courage and received the crown of martyrdom in the Kingdom of Heaven. \nSalutation to Damianus\, the faithful workman of Jesus. \nOther Holy Ones Remembered\nOn this day we also remember: \n\nMary\, the daughter of Abraham.\nAbraham\, the Friend of God.\n\nGlory to God in His Saints\nThe martyrs and saints teach us to be strong in faith\, no matter what trials come. Their courage shines like a light for us today. \nGlory be to God\, who is glorified in His saints. Amen. \n\n\n \nAUDITORY/AURAL LEARNERS \n\n\nhttps://teklye.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/download.wav\n \nVISUAL/SPATIAL LEARNERS

Amen. \n\n \nThe Prophet Micah\nToday we remember the great Prophet Micah\, son of Eyoel Yoak (who was also called Joram). Micah lived many\, many years ago during the time of the kings of Judah—Jehoshaphat\, Ahaziah\, and Athaliah. \nMicah was a faithful man who loved God deeply. God chose him to be His messenger and gave him powerful words to speak. \nMicah’s Amazing Prophecies\nMicah told the people about things that would happen far in the future. God spoke through Micah’s mouth to prepare His people. \nHere are some of the special prophecies Micah gave: \n\nGod will come down to earth.Micah said: “Behold\, God shall come from His place and walk upon the earth.”He was speaking about Jesus Christ\, who would be born as a man to save us.\nThe Birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.Micah said: “And you\, Bethlehem in the land of Judah\, though small\, will not be forgotten\, for from you shall come a King who will rule My people Israel. His beginnings are from before the creation of the world.”This prophecy came true when Jesus was born in Bethlehem more than 800 years later!\nThe Temple and the Gospel.Micah warned that the Jewish Temple would be destroyed\, but a new “temple” would rise up across the earth—this meant the Church of Christ\, where the Gospel would be preached to all nations.\nThe Law and God’s Word.He also said: “The Law shall go forth from Zion\, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”This came true when Jesus’ disciples spread the Gospel from Jerusalem to the whole world.\nA Warning to King Ahab.Micah boldly told King Ahab: “You shall die in the battle of Edom\, King of Gilead.” And just as Micah said\, the prophecy came true.\n\nA Life of Faith\nMicah lived a long and faithful life\, always speaking God’s truth—even when it was difficult. After many years\, when he had grown old\, he peacefully went to God\, whom he loved with all his heart. \nHe was buried in a village called Merata. \nSalutation to Micah\nThe Prophet Micah was a messenger of hope\, courage\, and truth. He pointed to the coming of Jesus Christ long before it happened\, reminding us that God always keeps His promises. \nHail to you\, Prophet Micah! Glory be to God\, who is glorified in His saints. Amen. \n\n\n \nAUDITORY/AURAL LEARNERS \n\n\nhttps://teklye.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Nehasse-22.wav\n \nVISUAL/SPATIAL LEARNERS

DESCRIPTION:READING/VERBAL LEARNERS\n\n\n \nIn the Name of the Father\, and the Son\, and the Holy Spirit\, One God. Amen.\n\n \nThe Feast of Our Lady Mary\nOn this day\, we celebrate Our Lady Mary\, the Mother of God\, who brought salvation to the world through her Son\, Jesus Christ. She prays for us every day\, and we honor her with joy.Hail to you\, O Mary! \n\n\n \nThe Story of Saint Irene\nThis same day is also special because it remembers Saint Irene. Her name means Peace. \nLong ago\, there lived a king named Lucianus\, and Irene was his daughter. The king loved her very much. He built her a shining palace with twelve grand halls and eight sparkling windows. Inside was a golden table and vessels made of silver and gold. Irene had three young servants to help her\, and a wise teacher who taught her lessons from outside the palace walls. \nAt this time\, Irene was just seven years old. \n\n\n \nThe Strange Visitors\nOne day\, while Irene was sitting at her golden table\, something amazing happened. \n\nA gentle dove flew in\, carrying an olive leaf\, and placed it on the table.\nThen\, a mighty eagle appeared with a crown and set it down.\nFinally\, a dark raven swooped in with a serpent and dropped it beside the others.\n\nIrene was very afraid. She told her teacher about the strange signs. He explained: \n\n“The dove is God’s Law\, and the olive leaf is Christian baptism.”\n“The eagle is the conqueror\, and the crown means victory for the righteous.”\n“The raven is a king\, and the serpent is suffering and trials.”\n\nThen he told her\, “You must be ready to fight for the name of Christ.” \n\n\n \nThe Father’s Proposal\nOne day\, King Lucianus came to visit his daughter. He said\,“My child\, I wish to marry you to one of the nobles.” \nIrene gently answered\,“Father\, give me three days to think about it.” \nWhen her father left\, Irene went to the idols in the palace\, asking them for advice. But they were silent. Then Irene lifted her eyes to heaven and prayed:“O God of the Christians\, have mercy on me.” \nAt once\, an angel of God appeared and said\,“Tomorrow one of Saint Paul’s disciples will come. He will baptize you in the name of Christ.” \nAnd just as the angel promised\, the next day a disciple arrived. Irene received Christian baptism with great joy. \n\n\n \nIrene Declares Her Faith\nThree days later\, her parents returned. Irene stood before them bravely and said\,“I am a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ\, the Son of the Living God.” \nHer father was furious. He ordered soldiers to tie her up and trample her with horses. But God protected her—no harm came to her at all! \nWhen her parents saw this miracle\, their hearts changed. They believed in Christ\, left behind their royal throne\, and chose a quiet life of faith. \n\n\n \nThe Kings Who Tried to Stop Her\nBut Irene’s faith journey was not easy. Many kings heard about her and tried to stop her. \n\nOne king set lions and serpents upon her\, but they would not touch her.\nHe even sawed her with a blade and tied a heavy stone around her neck—but Jesus saved her each time.\n\nLater\, her parents and three hundred of their servants were baptized\, along with many others in the city. \nAnother king\, Numerianus\, locked her in a brass bull\, but God shattered it and set her free. When King Sabor tried to spear her\, she gave up her spirit. But Christ raised her back to life!Seeing this\, King Sabor and many people believed in Jesus. Through Irene’s witness\, more than three hundred thousand people became Christians. \n\n\n \nThe End of Her Journey\nAt last\, Saint Irene was carried by God’s power to the city of Ephesus\, where she performed many miracles. She healed the sick and showed courage before powerful kings. \nFinally\, she rested in peace and was buried in a beautiful church. Her tomb became a place of healing\, where many miracles happened through her prayers. \n\n\n \nClosing\nSaint Irene lived with courage\, faith\, and love for Christ. Though kings and rulers tried to harm her\, God always protected her until the time came for her to rest with Him. \nHail to you\, Saint Irene! Glory be to God\, who is glorified in His saints. Amen. \n\n\n \nAUDITORY/AURAL LEARNERS\n\n\nhttps://teklye.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Nehase-21.wav\n \nVISUAL/SPATIAL LEARNERS
